THE OWNER
German-born Werner Fritsch moved to Australia over 30 years ago.
Without prior farming experience, he decided to start his own organic farm and practiced 'learning by doing'.
Besides growing organics veggies on the farm near Serpentine during the week, he started home deliveries in 2000, under the business name Freshline Organics
In addition you can buy his vegetables - and certified organic produce grown by other farmers - currently at three different markets on the weekend (see above).
You will usually see him with a smile on his face and his faithful 'right hand, the adorable Mischka, by his side.

THE FARM
Freshline Organics's current 4 ha farm is situated near Serpentine, about 80km south-east of the Western Australian capital city of Perth.
Our farm features a diverse range of vegetables, irrigated with the purest aquifer water drawn from bores on the property.
We like the concept of selling 'farm-direct' to our customers and therefore grow as many different vegetables as possible.
FRESH PRODUCTS PROCESS
Our farming approach and processes are aligned with the seasons, individual growth cycles and with the regulations set for certified organic farmers.
Our aim is to minimise the use of synthetic inputs, be they fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides.
Synthetic fertilisers generally make the plants grow faster (by absorbing more water), giving them less time in the soil ; this means, the plant absorbs fewer minerals and nutrients from the soil, than those grown organically over a longer period of time.
With many fruits and vegetables this is reflected in the taste, i.e. they have more 'flavour' than the 'force-fed' conventionally grown vegetables and fruit.
In addition, on our farm everything is hand-picked which allows us to harvest the vegetables in their prime, rather than prematurely as is often the case when machine-picked.
Our combination of organic farming and supplying directly to the end consumer has placed Freshline Organics in the unique position to guarantee extra-fresh produce: most of the produce we grow is picked and delivered within 48 hours.
To ensure our customers can select from a wide range of organic fruits and vegetables, we supplement our own produce with additional fruit and vegetables grown by certified organic growers.
